Faire la sélection des équipements de chauffage selon les critères techniques du client
Supporter techniquement le représentant externe et le client
Préparer les soumissions et les documents connexes
Coordonner les aspects techniques des fournisseurs canadiens et américains
Faire les différents suivis requis auprès des fournisseurs et des clients
Visiter les chantiers, au besoin
Assister aux mises en marche, au besoin
Travailler conjointement avec le Directeur, Développement des affaires-Chauffage
Les exigences du poste sont :
Ingénieur avec 2 ans d’expérience ou technologue avec 5 ans d’expérience en mécanique du bâtiment
Expertise en chauffage /chaudière au gaz naturel
Connaissances en récupération d’énergie et en conception de cheminées d’évacuation de chaleur sont des atouts
Disponibilités pour formation occasionnelle auprès de fournisseurs canadiens et Américains
Bilinguisme
Évolution possible du poste en tant que représentant externe

Tata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (TSMC) is a company that was formed to develop an Iron Ore project near Schefferville, Quebec on the border of Newfoundland and Labrador. TSMC is a joint venture between Tata Steel Limited and New Millenium Iron Corp. The former owning 80% and the later 20%.

The Project
The mine and milling project is referred to as the Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) Project. It consists of upgrading high grade hematite ore to produce 4 MT/YR of sinter fines. The project is currently in the construction stage and due to start-up in 2012. TSMC and New Millennium are also involved in a feasibility study of a much larger Taconite Project.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager (Civil Engineering), the Civil Engineer will actively participate in all aspects of civil engineering of the project during the construction phase.
Major Responsibilities:
Study of drawings and basic design and provide comments
Assist in preparation of specifications, tender documents, bid
Evaluation and participation in contractor fixing
Preparing cost and time estimates
Monitoring of progress and to recommend corrective action when required
Checking work for quality and safety
Identify critical issues within the project (i.e. project risks and opportunities) that could impact outcomes (i.e. schedule or budget) and develop action plans to address negative variances and reporting areas of non-compliance
Monitor work requests and manage change orders during project execution
Implementing total Safety in work sites as per safety policy
Bill certification
Required Experience:
Civil Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
At least 5 years of project experience in large industrial projects
Proven ability to plan project initiatives through to successful completion and handover of projects
Able to work simultaneously on various packages of work of the project at varying stages of the project
Must be able to independently engage with EPCM and other contractors
Should be willing to work in difficult climatic conditions – like snow and extreme cold
Skill in the written and oral presentation of concepts, progress status and action plans
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Construction Manager, The Assistant Construction Manager will possess a proven track record of successfully assisting in leading and managing construction projects in cold climates including at least one project having a value exceeding $ 100 M. As part of their experience, this individual will have supervised contractors and sub-contractors for civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation project work.
Major Responsibilities:
provide leadership & oversight to the DSO Project to assist in managing construction activities and systems and ensure effective and efficient execution
be responsible to help establish a complete construction management team and assume full project control & responsibility to set up and organise all required planning for project execution
hold all supporting parties responsible/accountable for delivery of all materials and Engineering packages as defined within the project execution plan
interface between the Project Execution Team and the centralized Montreal-based project group
ensure that the contractors’ invoices obtain approvals for payment
assist the Construction Manager in providing leadership in the Project Planning process on an as-required basis to contractors, sub-contractors, and the Project Executive team
ensure adherence to productivity targets and respecting of constraints by all construction contractors including the EPCM consultant
provide expert knowledge to and support the Construction Management team
be responsible for maintaining compliance to the construction budget, all quality requirements and the overall construction schedule
be responsible for successful handover of the completed facility to the DSO Operations team
be responsible for Project stewardship (construction portion) and preparing presentations for the Project Executive team identifying trends in cost, productivity & quality
Required Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; or Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
at least 10 years of hands on construction supervision experience (preferably over five years as Assistant Construction Manager) with Industrial/Mining construction projects in northern Canada
a Leader with a strong participative management style who is an advocate of open, honest and consistent behavior in the work place
a self-confident and positive individual with confidence in their skills and abilities as Assistant Construction Manager
willing to stand against tough opposition on principles yet know when to adjust, adapt and be flexible as new information surfaces

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Projects, the Intermediate Cost and Scheduling Specialist will actively participate in the monitoring and reporting of the project costs and schedule.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide cost Engineering, Scheduling and estimating services for the Project as per directions from the Sr. Director, Project
Strong individual with a mindset to reduce cost on the Project
Liaison with the Project Controls Manager , Construction Manager , EPCM on regular basis and be aware of any work on project which might have schedule and / or cost implications
Assist Project Cost Control Manager with regard to Costs Incurred on the contract
Evaluate EPCM Contractor Base line schedule, progress curves and Schedule reforecast based on actual field progress, workforce and the actual site performance
Analyze trends /productivities. Highlight potential impacts of changes on Cost / Schedule
Analyze and assist in preparing the cost forecasts in the face of cost pressure and optimism from project teams. Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes
Review Contractors payment applications for accuracy and conformance with progress and terms of Payment
From monthly cost reports, using Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) highlighting variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, management of changes against approved Control Cost Estimate
Willing to travel to project site when required
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience preferably in large scale industrial construction projects
Thorough knowledge of cost Engineering principles
Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Cost Engineering Principles and Cost and Schedule planning software
Outstanding communication in both English and French languages
Preferably undergraduate degree in Engineering discipline
