For the Global Technology Center located in Brownsburg, we are looking for a
Senior Project Engineer, New products R&D
You are responsible to :
- Lead the development and implementation of Electronic Blasting System products (electronic detonators and blasting equipments) including the qualification of the manufacturing process
- Review and evaluate existing methodologies to measure product performances
- Lead the development of new methodologies to measure product performances and analyze the data, conduct risk assessments and implement.
- Perform exploratory work to find and qualify new technologies that will bring an added value to our products
- Manage projects required by the technology group, present project updates to senior management
- Coordinate and or Support qualification and implementation of new products & processes by working with several groups within manufacturing and as well as with our external suppliers.
- Participate and contribute to the adoption of Field information System in the Technology team
Your accountabilities
- Manage qualification of new product and process, implementation of new design and start-up of new production equipments.
- Propose, support and implement technology projects and initiatives related to safety, quality and product performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with our external suppliers
- Lead the development and implementation of new test methods and data analytics.
- Coordinate and prioritize work for the Technicians in the team
- Manage several development project related to product improvement.
- Support improvement of product and process technical documentation.
- Perform qualification testing and train other members of the Technology team.
Your education and experience
- Degree in Engineering or relevant hard science discipline
- Master or PhD would be an asset
- At least 7 years of work experience in a similar position
- Experience in continuous improvement activities or in product & process development in an high automated manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electronic industry highly desirable
- Mining background would be a plus
- PMP or/and NPDP certification would be an asset.

- Knowledge in continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean principles, Shingo etc.
- Excellent knowledge of design software (Autocad; MSProject, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or Inventor)
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Availability to travel to Orica and customers sites (5 to10%)
